What we collect
The Hunt collects the minimum necessary to run a curated discovery newsletter:
- Email address (required for all subscribers)
- Name (optional)
- Mobile phone number (only if you opt into SMS Must Hunt alerts as part of the Insider tier)
- Business information (only if you apply for the Trade tier)
- Basic event analytics (signup source, unsubscribe events)
We do not collect location data, browsing history, or third-party cookies beyond what's strictly required for the site to function.
SMS messaging program
If you opt into the Insider tier with an explicit consent checkbox at checkout, we will send you SMS alerts about Must Hunt estate sales in Los Angeles. By providing your mobile number and ticking the consent box, you agree to receive automated text messages from The Hunt at the number provided.
- Message frequency: up to 3 messages per week
- Message and data rates may apply (charged by your carrier)
- Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe
- Reply HELP for assistance, or email hello@thehuntla.com
- Carriers (AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, etc.) are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Phone numbers and SMS consent records are used solely to operate the SMS alert program described above. They are not sold, rented, or transferred to any other party, ever.
How we use what we collect
We use your email to send the weekly digest, transactional notices (welcome, billing receipts), and account-related messages. We use your phone number, if provided, only to send the SMS alerts you opted into.
Information may be processed by service providers we use to run the platform — specifically Supabase (database hosting), Resend (email delivery), Twilio (SMS delivery), Stripe (payment processing), and Vercel (web hosting). These vendors are bound by their own privacy obligations and may not use your data beyond providing services to us.
We do not sell or share
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it with advertisers, data brokers, or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes of any kind. We do not engage in any cross- context behavioral advertising.
Your rights
- Unsubscribe: click the unsubscribe link in any email
- Stop SMS: reply STOP to any text
- Access or deletion: email hello@thehuntla.com and we'll respond within 30 days
- California residents: you have additional rights under the CCPA, including the right to know, delete, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights
